The Jigglewatts Burlesque Revue is thrilled to present an evening in the 1970’s with Canadian burlesque legend, Judith Stein. See burlesque as it was and is with a dazzling burlesque show at 8:00 p.m. (doors at 7:00 p.m.) Thursday, March 30th at The Ballroom at Spider House, 2906 Fruth St. in Austin, Texas. This captivating live show features performances from Jigglewatts Something Blue, Ruby Joule, Jolie Goodnight, Ruby Lamb and our host Selma Bawdy along with Zsa Zsa Morté, Jasper St. James and a very special performance by burlesque legend Judith Stein.

After growing up a farm girl in Canada, Judith Stein began her career as a gogo dancer in the 1970’s in Oregon while studying art history at university. Performing between strip acts, Judith was encouraged by the other dancers to explore the world of burlesque and began her life as a strip teaser in 1973. After spending time working in Alaska, Judith moved to San Francisco where she danced between dirty movies at a burlesque theater and funded her education one silver dollar at a time. She later moved on to headline venues across Canada, the US, Guam, New Zealand and Micronesia. Her incredible career has spanned over 4 decades and the Jigglewatts are thrilled to welcome her to our stage for one special night.

With the longest continuously running burlesque show in Texas, The Jigglewatts Burlesque Revue has been entertaining audiences since 2006 with their re-imaginings of classic burlesque and original forays into the art of neo-burlesque. This ongoing burlesque residency at The Ballroom at Spider House features live music, comedy, drag, variety, and world-class burlesque performances in a swanky cabaret setting. The Jigglewatts Burlesque is a perfect match for this jewel-box of a space where floor to ceiling red velvet curtains, an artfully appointed stage, and an aura of old Vaudeville add to the immersive experience.
