Something blue |
Something Blue started watching from the wings at the Jigglewatts Burlesque in 2011 as a stage manager and kitten, but couldn’t stay backstage forever. Following her first solo performance in July 2013 and graduation from the Austin Academy of Burlesque, Blue became a Jiggle-ette and member of Naked Girls Reading-Austin. In 2015, Blue officially became a Jigglewatt. She has formal training in Jazz from Broadway Dance Center and Alvin Ailey Studios in New York City. She is also a classically trained vocalist and has performed at Carnegie Hall and with the Austin Civic Chorus.
Blue demonstrates her love for something old through her sense of history and antique style. Her acts range from cinematic pastiche and historical tableau to epic rock anthems and tongue-in-cheek humor. With her refined sensibilities and deep curves, she’s the kind of girl you can take home to your mother - but don’t let your father near her! Something Blue’s history on the boards has given her a love of the theatrical and grandiose. She strives to bring something new to the stage with each performance and invites audiences into her world of elegance, fire and mystery. Whether a Kiss From a Rose in a ball gown and gloves or a trip to Ancient Greece accompanied by the blues, her neo-classical style combines the nostalgic with a modern flare. “An adorable, wavy-haired brunette with cherubic cheeks” according to Jacob Mauldin of Piney Woods Live Magazine, Something Blue is more than just a pretty face. An insatiable tease, she’s a glass of champagne with a floater of liquor; a well worded blue joke. Girls like this only come along once in a blue moon. She’s something old, she’s something new, she’s Something Blue. |
Ruby Lamb |
Ruby Lamb is part glitter-storm-cotton-candy-tumbleweeds and part succubus-warrior. She’s soft as scarves and wicked as wool, and her past is steeped in bubbles and performance art.
As a Satan’s Cheerleader, she has done good in the name of evil since 2001. She is a frolicsome creature who danced with Red Light Burlesque, Austin’s original burlesque revival troupe; engaged audiences with Naked Girls Reading Austin for six years; wiggled and teased at the Austin Pride Festival for seven years; was a headliner for the 2017 Texas Queerlesque Festival in Dallas; and was a two-time nominee for Best Burlesque Performer in the Austin Chronicle Best of Austin Poll. Lamb joined Mistress of Musicality Productions for The Purple Party, a series of burlesque tributes to Prince. In addition to cavorting on the main stage, Ruby is a seasoned producer, instructor at the Austin Academy of Burlesque, actress, model, and the first subject for Dr. Sketchy’s Austin, an alternative visual art event. One of Austin’s persistent eccentrics, this naughty gamboling sheeplet is an instigator of hijinks, an ambassador of fun with an appreciation for the sexy and the absurd! See more of her here. |
