Learn the fundamentals of tease and technique with award-winning burlesque veterans of their craft! In this 2 hour workshop, we’ll explore the colorful history of this uniquely American art form and cover the basics of tantalizing burlesque movement. You’ll learn about the legendary burlesque superstars of history and milestones of striptease that got us where we are today, as well as perfect your own tease technique with essentials burlesque movement and props. Explore expert ways to tempt and taunt with a feather boa, as well as the most daring of burlesque skills, pastie making and tassel twirling! This masterclass is a sizzling sampler platter of wisdom and know-how from members of the longest continuously-running revue in the U.S.A., The Jigglewatts Burlesque Revue. Featuring a panel of internationally acclaimed instructors: Bobby Barnaby, Ruby Joule and Something Blue.
Please bring a boa if you have one, or a scarf or other item that will work as a boa placeholder. A few boas will be provided for class use. For the pasties portion, students will get hands-on instruction to make a beginner pair of pasties, materials provided. Bring your favorite pair of pasties with tassels if you have them. Practice pairs will be provided for anyone who needs them. No nudity required or expected for this class. All adult bodies and genders welcome. Wear clothing you can move and stretch in and bring a pair of heels to class if you wish.
About the Instructors: Bobby Barnaby, Ruby Joule, and Something Blue.
Your trio of teachers from The Jigglewatts Burlesque Revue has over 50 years combined experience in burlesque, with a love of burlesque history and both classic and innovative techniques. With multiple awards between them including titles from Burlesque Hall of Fame in Las Vegas, they have traveled the world performing and teaching various aspects of the burlesque arts. Prior Instructor appearances include BurlyCon, with Bobby Barnaby booked as a featured instructor for 2026.
