The Jigglewatts Burlesque Revue is back on the stage after a brief hiatus with another signature dazzling show on Friday, May 18th at 8:00 PM and 10:30 PM at Austin's 29th St. Ballroom!
The London Daily Telegraph calls it “the Oscars of Burlesque,” and the Seattle Post Intelligencer names it, “The Superbowl of Striptease.” We’re talking about the Burlesque Hall of Fame weekend and pageant held every year in fabulous Las Vegas! This year, our own Ruby Joule and Coco Lectric have been selected from hundreds to compete in the categories of Best Debut and Reigning Queen, respectively.
The ladies will be giving you a sneak peek of the acts they plan to compete with, and will be joined by special guests in a grand homage to Sin City! The show features future Burlesque Hall of Fame nominees Lady Luck of Las Vegas, Lilly White of Austin’s Bat City Bombshells, Riley Do Right, Jigglewatts’ Pearl Lux and Goldie Candela, your host Nicole Lucas, and our very own Jigglewatts Burlesque Bunnies! A portion of the proceeds from this show will go the Burlesque Hall of Fame Museum.
The Jigglewatts Burlesque produced their first show in June of 2006. Now going stronger than ever in their sixth year, this exclusive boutique troupe features classically trained dancers, vocalists and actors whose brand of burlesque is upbeat, cheeky, clever, elegant and sexy all at the same time, inviting audiences of both men and women to join in the fun.
With twelve titles collectively, including Hot Rods & Heels “Troupe of the Year,” Texas Burlesque Fest “Audience Choice Award” and “Best Costume,” and New Orleans Burlesque Fest “Queen of Burlesque,” this small but resplendent troupe is the most highly acclaimed in Texas.
